itching grass !

My Patterdale x Lakeland itches like mad tried feed change wiping down after exercise but to no apparal been to vets no luck how do you cope ive heard of piriton tablets what dose !its defernatly grass allergy he's 11 years and shakes now old thanks.

My large breed dog is on 4 Piriton a day, 500mg dose, about £10 from Animeds, with vet's guidance, ring your vet to talk it over/agree dose.

Another itchy dog!
Our GSD (now 11) had a patch test done when she was aged 2 - from what I remember, she came back allergic to all but 2 of them.
Grass, pollen, ticks, fleas, housedust mites, you name it, she's allergic. She became very poorly, very sore and had to have 2 bouts of laser surgery on her elbows to get rid of the scar tissue which had built up from her scratching.
As CC says, piriton can ease allergies - if piriton (and perhaps a hypoallergenic diet) doesn't help, go back to your vets - they tried our girl on monthly vaccines (which sadly didn't help) and she is now on Atopica (used to be cyclosporin for humans) and is doing very well on that.
