My pony has been itching the top of his tail for a while now. But he has started doing it that bad, that he's braking through the fencing! He rub's that much that he doesn't even notice when someone comes up to him, it's like all he can think about is itching. He's wormed to date, and doesn't do this in his stable just in the field. What can I do to help him stop itching?

From what you are saying your pony is doing similar rubbing to a pony on our yard. The best thing to try is to wash the tail thoroughly ensuring you have washed out all the soap & then rub in Benzyl Benzoate (use rubber gloves). If you do this over 2 or three days you will hopefully see your pony stop rubbing & the tail returning to normal.

Benzyl Benzoate is not available at some chemists but certainly available on line. The first time I went into a chemist to buy it the assistant looked at me really funnily. The Pharmacist came out & said to her "I imagine he has a horse" I nodded & he said to the assistant " See he hasn't got scabbies". That's what it was i nitially for.

Anyway, try it & hopefully it should do the trick.
