After having Mr Toby for a whole week now I am itching to get on him, he has had time to chill from his long journey get used to his new home and me, he's had his feet done now and had the dentist.. poor boy.
I am hoping that his gums will heal quick cos I am really starting to want to get on now ha ha I haven't ridden him yet due to having everything checked and worked on but now everything is done.
I lunged him for a few mins this morning to see what he was like... yeah OK I am sure there is a button in his head somewhere where he will go 'wwweeeeeeeeeeeeee' but I am yet to find it ha ha he's such a good lad, I only lunged him in his headcollar again cos of his mouth being sore and he was just so good too busy looking about really but listened really well to me.
I then turned him out with his carrot as usual, there was a couple of horses looning about in the paddocks right next to him, his head was up looking and I was waiting for the button to be pressed.........BUT...... nothing ha ha ha just walked into his field without a care in the world for the others playing around he turned round and stood waiting for his carrot like an angel... again waiting for him to spin and run about too afterwards.............BUT........ again nope he just slowly walked away said hi to his field mate, who bite his neck and walked off again to munch away happily.
Cannot believe how relaxed and laid back this guy is, if it was my old lad my god all hell would've broken out ha ha ha I guess I am not used not having such a chilled horse but am loving it at the same time.
Just have to wait til I can get on and I bet I find that elusive button in his head.... but again doubt it ha ha ha... well and truely think I have landed on my feet with this fella.
Love him to bits already.
