Waffled a lot!
I've really struggled with itchy animals this year. I've treated them all with vet prescription flea treatments, and washed/replaced all beds/blankets, spraying the beds and settees with a farm level mite spray that kills fleas too. We have no carpets in rooms where pets go, just wood or concrete floors.
Yet within a couple of weeks they're itching again. Today we saw something on a cat's ear, like a tiny black spec. When squeezed (hard) it got up and ran, we don't think it was a flea, more like some sort of tick. I've only ever seen sheep ticks before, which were 100 times bigger, but this definitely seemed attached initially, and ran rather than jumped..
Any ideas and suggestions?
The vet comes to the house to do injections, and is due in the next two weeks, so will ask him if not.
