Hi All

Wondered if anyone could give me some recommendations for an itchy pup. She's a black lab, just turned 1. Always been prone to getting itchy and a typical lab as she's into any water she comes across!

She's on hypoallergenic food so don't think that's contributing.. might be wrong though!

Does anyone know any shampoos that might help? She's got some dandruff, no fleas and no hot spots or redness anywhere.

TIA :)

Malaseb shampoo, maybe chat on phone to vet, she may need an antihistamine. Only thing that stops my dog scratching is Atopica but it's pretty expensive.

Tree pollen is very high at the moment.

But hard to say without knowing the root cause, it might be genetic, an allergy to household product or food ingredient, even if it's hypoallergenic, some dogs can still have allergies to the meat content.

To provoke no protein allergies you need a hydrolysed food. Hypoallergenic foods just avoid using some common allergens and allergies can be caused by just about anything. One of mine gets worse in dry weather and testing showed she is allergic to several kinds of pollen and dust mites among other things. She is fine on Apoquel.
