My gelding has started itching his forehead quite a lot. I left him tied up and he scratched his forehead and forelock on a stonechip wall quite a lot so his forehead has hair taken off it in patches. My friend said it looks like sweet itch. He doesnt scratch anywhere else though. What would be the best way to clear this up for him?

Farra is particularly itchy in this area. I wash her regularly with EQyss Micro-Tek shampoo, and I also use the Micro-Tek spray which really improved her itchiness this year. I also use Megatek to keep the hair growing fast and able to take the odd rub as it is also strengthened. All of these products can be bought from tailgator.co.uk.

I also make sure she has plenty of oily fly spray that I make up applied twice a day.

Finally, I try to avoid leaving her tied up unattended in summer so I can stop her if she starts to really go for it against anything.
