itchy horse

Are any of your horses itchy just now. Mine is very itchy as soon as I take off his stable rug or outdoor he is going mad for either me or any thing he can itch on. He stamps about the stable at night and walks about as if some thing is irritating him.It has been a bit cold lately for midgies. Any suggestions please

some of the horses on our yard are REALLY itchty early evening so guess the midgies are still about , I read on a few posts that brewers yeast is good for that, might be worth getting some for yours??

I have had problems with an itchy horse this summer. A few weeks ago I started feeding Total Eclipse from Simple Systems as recommended. This contains Brewers Yeast, Linseed and seaweed. It has certainly done the trick for my boy. Apparently the combination of B vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties is the key. Will carry on feeding it now, just decrease the dosage over the winter months.
