Itchy Horse

My girly has two really itchy patches along her sides. I can feel lumps under the skin. I thought maybe she was too hot so changed her rugs but no inprovement.Anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like an allergic reaction to me. Might be worth getting your vet to have a look?

Has she rubbed herself on something that could be irritating, giving rise to a hives like rash? If it is still itching her and the skin isn't broken you could dab on calamine lotion or aloe vera gel to calm it until you have the vet out?

Could be bacterial skin infection, very common at the moment. If she develops scabs and loses the hair, could be it.
