Itchy Horse

wondering if anyone can help. my mare is very itchy, seems to be all over her body, but in particular inbetween her front legs. what is puzzling me is that there are no signs of cuts, rashes, bites, lumps or bumps, has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you cure it?

Weirdly, my horse had a patch of broken skin that the vet reckoned was itchy/mites recently. He gave me fuciderm cream (cleared it up) and I asked for a Dectomax injection to stop him itching as he has lots of feather and this worked last time.

Hi thank you for your reply, when i seen her last night she had a huge swelling and with it being between her front legs it's was hanging down. She got a steroid injection and danilon from the vet so hopefully that will sort her out.

This may sound mad but apparently marmite is fantastic for itchy horses, I have a friend who tried it and it worked.

Marmite is something I havent tried and after a visit from the vet, she is still itchy will give it a go
