I have a 20 year old TB gelding who won't stop scratching!
It started a few weeks ago, he's rubbed half the hair off his face, he has an itchy belly and has knocked over support posts in the barn trying to scratch himself and seems to be going a bit crazy!
I had a vet out to see if anything was wrong as I couldn't see anything, she wasn't able to find anything but recommended i de-flea him just incase, which iv done. He's been wormed, iv been adding linseed to his food the last few weeks too, to improve coat condition but nothing is working!
My friend said even though its the wrong time of year, it's possible it could be sweet itch?
Iv bathed him in microbial shampoo which has made no difference. I'm running out of things to try!!
Help!!
