Right, so my youngsters started to get reaaaaally itchy skin. Ive only had her since august last year, she had no problems then and didn't have sweet itch ETC through the end of summer.

She has started to rub herself where ever she can and is itching a lot. she has rubbed abit of her mane off and has a bald spot on her face, the skin on her face isn't raw, bloody, has no puss around it ETC, its just down to the skin.

We recently moved yards at the end of January, at our old yard she was living out 24/7 rugged in a light weight, she is now stabled at night, naked in the field through the day and has her fleece on at night. She has been in her stable a lot recently due to the really bad weather we have had, don't think this will have had an effect though personally. She has no lice as I've checked thoroughly, quite often. She is groomed daily, especially now to try remove the dead skin. Checked her bedding and no lice there!

Her summer coat is coming through now, so im trying my best to try get rid of all her winter coat and loose hairs.

Think that's all.. If anyone at all has any suggestions or comments please let me know!

Sorry for not being more help, but maybe if you washed her with an anti-bacterial wash, and sterilised the brushes, rug etc.. It might help. Hope she gets better soon. It's frustrating when you dont know whats causing it. :)

What about mites? Not visible to the naked eye.
Also, have you wormed against pinworm as a heavy infestation will cause itching - not just around the tail but mane, shoulders etc? They can be resistant too!

What bedding is she on? I'd try changing her rug to something else- fleece can pick up little bits and get itchy. Any feeding changes?

It could be a multitude of things but when I got my mare she just had dry scurfy skin so was very itchy, I fed her micronised linseed and it went away completely in a month. I now have a welsh pony that has the same problem and have got the linseed out again, only been a week and so far so good! Sometimes their skin just gets dry and especially with coat changes no wonder they itch!

I would wash her with something like dermoline as soon as you have a relatively warm day. If she is on straw it could be that.
