Hi
I have an 8year old Jack Russell and this weekend she has had a really itchy spot in her lower back that she has been chewing so much that the hair has started to thin in this area. I put some frontline on the back of her neck and she appeared less itchy but she will occassionally have another chew and she has a scab. We are off to see the vets this afternoon but was just wondering if anyone else has had a sinilar experience? Could she have an allergy to something? She is her normal mad self and is eatign and drinking normally.
Thanks

Sounds like a flea allergy. The frontline kills the fleas when they bite, so she will react till they have been killed off. If it is a flea allergy it will be important to keep her and her bedding etc... regularly treated as the skin can get quite thickened, and flakey when they react to the flea bites. My friends lab need steroid injections to calm everything down if she is bitten as reacts so badly to flea bites.
