Righty.

Now I have ridden three this morning in this blinking weather (mad, I think) and needless to say I was soaked through and a tad on the chilly side. So I jumped in the shower when I got home and now my thighs and knes are so itchy it is rediculous I actually feel like I am allergic to something. Is this as abnormal as I think it is?

I didnt wear my overtrousers....

I only get it if i'm wearing wet johds, if i've been riding in the rain in jeans it doesn't happen. Think it might be the lycra or something. Either that or were just strange!!!

it could be the onset of chillblains.
when you get cold the bloodflow is restricted, and when you get warm/hot again the rush of blood to get back into every part of your body can burst some of the vessels. this is where the redness and itchiness comes from.
i get them on my fingers, toes and backs of my legs (i have really bad circulation).
there's no real cure as such, you can use aloe vera deep heat to warm them up, or you can get special creams which are supposed to stop the itching.
thye best way to avoid it is when you get cold take your time to slowly warm up, don't just jump into a boiling hot shower.
*this is definately a case of 'do as i say, not as i do'*
it'll go away in a day or two, maybe as quick as 12 hours, depends how much is damaged.
