Did anyone just see Gadget Geeks on Sky one?

They just made a remote controlled robot to ride a horse, can't decide if it was genius or madness

I saw it - my son is a complete geek, and it's his favourite programme!

What a sweetheart of a mare - her face was a picture! She really couldn't work out what on earth was going on!

Shame that they didn't stop earlier while she was going round quietly in walk - but at least the owner admitted that the sprint finish was her own fault for "kicking" too hard!

Well, the woman said she wanted a gadget to exercise her horse....my first thought was a horsewalker???

Felt sorry for the mare when the thing fell to pieces.

From a practical point of view I thought it a bit odd as in order for it to work the horse would need to be tacked up and someone have the time to sit and play with the phone for her to be exercised so not overly sure where the time saving came in......

All a bit bizzare really!

i was shocked with how little thought there was about safety TBH. What if it had slipped completely under the horses legs? what if it had jumped out when it freaked out? at the very least they should have had a lunge caveson on..

Lazy cow should have just ridden the horse, got a sharer or a horse walker..

I know, what a sweet mare!

I wondered if it could be used for backing, or for "riding" problem horses, but then it's hardly training for a rider. Maybe for little ones when they don't have a little jockey?

hi all and Eva if you come across this:

if you need someone to exercise your horse I'm available.
I'm confident rider but nothing extreme, beginner at jumping. I'm 5ft, 8st.
Based in W5 London will travel upto 30miles

I caught the end as OH had it on (Was shocked when I first walked in, thought he had a prog on about horses!!:eek:)
What a good mare she was, putting up with that contraption! My lad however would not have done the same..
Good idea in theory but would need alot more refining and safety to be thoroughly thought through before going anywhere near a horse!:mad:
