In the last few years I've started to go out to America for the hunting and fishing in. I've a good friend out there so my accomodtion costs me nothing. I'm going again at the beginning of November and my flight to Upstate New York including an internal flight is going to cost me £250 including taxes.

I'm there for a week and in this time I'm down to do the following. Four days deer hunting, two of those with the gun and the other two with the bow. A night out racoon hunting with the coon hounds and then two days salmon fishing.

In the part of America that I'm going to, there is still a great culture of hunting shooting and fishing. I can't tell you how relaxing it is not to have to on my guard and to be able to discuss my country pursuits freely whilst over there with friends of mutual interests.

America has always had plenty of detractors but I'm not one of them.

The yanks have a very good record of killing things but it's nothing to be proud of, most have no respect for the countyside, the animals or even other humans.
Just because thay can go out shooting, hunting, fishing it still doesn't make it right.

Hunting for "sport" should be banned throughout the world.

I was in Florida in mid-August and came across some people that had just shot a female Coyote and had brought it back on their boat as a trophy.

We intended to go on an Air Boat ride ourselves and so ventured into the establishment to pay. There were lots of pictures of the beautiful wildlife one might see along the way. Birds, Deer, Fish, insects etc etc - then further along the wall was pictures of hunters, posing gleefully with their kills. Pictures of dead Boar, hung upside down with a Rifle leaning on the carcass, Frogs laid out on the ground, slit open from head to foot, Coyotes with bullet holes and smiling huntsmen. Really quite disturbing. At least our Hunting Fraternity attempt to use excuses like 'pest control' or 'population control' and don't tend to be so blatant in their glee at having killed for fun.

It was the only thing about the trip that made me feel quite sad and like I didn't want to be there. Hopefully, state by state, people will tire of such barbarity, just as they did here in the UK. Then eventually, lets hope, it won't just be the UK Hunting Fraternity on the decline.

Sounds a fine way to spend a week to me.

Have a great time and enjoy the true spirit of outdoorsmanship.

These wet wasters called antis we have over here know nothing of the thrills and enjoyment hunting is its many forms brings to those who have a complete and unbiased understanding of the realities of wildlife management.

Excellent!A first rate way to spend your time, killing vermin.!

At least our Hunting Fraternity attempt to use excuses like 'pest control' or 'population control' and don't tend to be so blatant in their glee at having killed for fun.

Which ones as these then Hymie. Certain none that I have ever met. As I have said many times. One of the reasons I do it, is for the fun, and bloody good fun it is.

In your dreams or should that be nightmares Hymie. Hunting, shooting and fishing have never been more popular in the UK,as well as all over the world. They will continue to grow in popularity as well.

It might have been convincing if you hadn't gone on to say that you hunt for fun!

Its not a difficult concept to understand. Even for you Hymie.

You have progressed beyond the Janet and John, book 5, reading stage by now I presume?
