Just a general moan, really...
I woke up to a deluge, which, whilst good for grass and much appreciated, has flooded my tackroom.
A very wet, muddy and excited collie has jumped into my bed:mad:
The telly is going mad, presumably because of thunder...
Walked in the barn to turn horses out - rugged up, in August:rolleyes: to discover that Grumpy's face is covered in yellow goo (technical term, that). Trotted off to the flooded tackroom, fished out some Hibiscrub and some cream, went back to the barn (got soaked on the way) to sort Grumpy's face out before turn out, walked him out of his stable and yes, you've guessed it, he's lame:( One of those mysterious ones, nothing seemingly untoward, but nonetheless, the horse is lame.
Turned him out anyway, together with buted supper.
Went to fetch the girls out and Gracie jumped into a puddle - the bits of me that have remained dry up to that point aren't dry any more.

So, what have you been up to today?:D

What a bum day you have had! :(

Hope your evening gets better :D

My day has been ok, weather poop and it appears my gutters need clearing out

Oh and I hope your horse is ok! :)

And i'm not sure why I am typing in double line spaces! 0.o :D

:( feel sorry for you

Today we had one person kicked, one got a nasty bite, one person fell off, knocked her mum over and then the horse trambled on the mum, and another barged out of the field and then fell over in his stable. Not been a good day tbh.

oh dear poor you! I totally forgot what date and day it was and seem to have had a good one so far apart from the rain.

I was just about to post a thread about friday 13th. My day has been okay. The weather has been an ars.e and I only did 10 mins in arena because it just started getting really waterlogged. But my friend on the other hand isnt so lucky, her horse appears to have an infection in the leg and causing huge swelling up to the knee and very lame, but all horse wanted to do was kick vet in the face. I hope your horse gets well soon!! And that your tackroom drains. If its any consolation a puddle formed in the tackroom at the yard Im at, right next to where I keep the rugs and my BP.

Um. Laid in bed. Felt weird.

Got up. Felt weird.

Ignored weird and did some work, trying to ignore fact that Friend is going hunting in October - we were going to go together last year, but I couldn't due to banged head. This year was mean to be It. Ah well.

Doing some work (have three laptops open lol, I look like something out of a thriller - it's the back brace that does it :D).

Still, at least I'm dry :D

Warm, dry socks and a large mug of hot choccy :D

Well
Went to hitch up trailer, think someone had ''fiddled'' with jockey wheel, it stuck, put concrete blocks under tow bar, put concrete blocks just inside back of trailer to counterbalance, managed to sort jockey wheel with no weight on it, hitched up, left indicator not working everything else is OK, thoroughly cleaned everything, checked connections, bulb looks good, put concrete blocks away again.
Had short trip to tip, Mr Grumpy in charge---''I am not paid to lift'' but OK I can drag what I took but not lift it into the crushing machine!
Just pressure washed trailer out ready to get hay tomorrow, so will go and try lights again-think I need new light fittings, rubber is looking perished and bulb not working is too easy to pull in and out.

Our horses were maniacs today, going ballistic in the field for no reason at all.
Dogs were pretty mad too, playing and running arround when usually they sleep all day.
Hope your horse is ok

Finished the last of the ragwort (contract not mine), babysat grandaughter lunchtime, did horses, walked dogs, did minimum housework, had tea, am currently babysitting granddaughter again. Same old, same old :(

My lovely mare, Blue is still in Edinburgh vet hospital. What should have been a simple operation to remove an abscessed tooth has turned bad. Its been going on for two months and only on Monday did they discover an abscess, despite my referring vet saying that he thought it was an abscess. So on Monday the started the extraction, and on Tuesday morning about 1030am I got a call from the vet school, thinking this was a bit early to be phoning to say that they had finished her. They were phoning me to say that she had moved her head when they had the extractors on her tooth and they had only removed the crown and the tooth was still in the gum. So she had to go under general anaesthetic so that the tooth could be removed by repulsion. This is the third time that she has had to have her face opened up as initially they thought that she had a sinus cyst. Today I get a call to say that her sinuses aren't flushing properly with the trephine drain in and that it is backing up. Vet says that she has never seen this in a horse post-operatively, only pre-operatively, so she then tried some treatment (I think she said laser treatment) that she has never done before. It didn't work and Blue haemorraged. She now has packing up her nose to stop the haemorraging. So one step forward and about ten steps back today. I feel totally depressed and disillusioned by the whole veterinary profession.
Anyway rant over...... another bottle of red, I think....

Do you have birds nests in the barn, could be either bird poo or maybe egg.

It's seems to be coming out of his face, rather than onto it, if you see what I mean. Like fly bites, only those are not fly bites, they are little wounds with yellow goo coming out of them:(

I think I'll have supper from MacDonald's, cooking might be a dangerous activity, to many things could go wrong:rolleyes:

Went early to the horses to rug up the old boy as the forecast was naff, glad I did!

My day was spent lesson planning...joy of joys! Along with housework and the usual boring stuff....

Now chillin' and got a lesson in the morning, hope it's a bit better then! :D

I was having a lovely day - until I put £25 worth of petrol in my husbands diesel car and then drove 30 miles! Ooops!!!!

Hohum, anyone got a spare sofa tonight......... :(
