Ive had my pony for a year and a half and im worried i may be too big for him. weight isnt an issue as hes a Fell so i could be 20 stone and hed still carry me no bother. im about 5ft 8/9 and 9.4 stone but im not sure if im getting too tall for him for competing.
BUT i could never ever ever get rid of him, hes too special but no way could we afford to keep/shoe/feed/vaccinate etc.. 2 horses.
i dont know what to do... i think i could do more on a horse but i like my pony as hes fun, safe and i can do every thing within limit with him.

like i said before, i dont know what to do :(

Whats making you think you're too big? do you feel too tall? is it affecting your riding or his way of going?

If it's people making comments ignore them. I'm 5ft2 and ride a 12hh pony, i often get asked when i'm going to get a real horse. I dont compete her but do do a lot of long distance rides on her and never had a problem.

Basically what i'm trying to say is if you're comfortable and you're pony is happy then I personally cant see a problem... :D

Hope this helps

Please don't worry. If you enjoy your pony and you can do the types of competitions you want to do with him then there's no problem. I bought my fell pony last year, I'm 27 and 5'8" - so I've never outgrown him - I was tall to start with! Just enjoy your pony. :)

I looked at the photos you posted and you should stop worrying. Lots of tall adults ride ponies now days. I wish I still had a 14.2hh to ride. Enjoy your pony to the max and dont let it get you down, there is too much fun to be had :)

Stop worrying and enjoy your pony as the others have said. I am a very proud 30yr old who rides the same 14.2h pony I had since I was age 11! I do not care what others think as long as my girl is happy to carry me that is all that matters :D:D
