To be serious for a minute I HATE it when people resoiurt to personal insults when they have lost the argument.

I ONLY ever get personal when I have won the argument and want to put the boot in.

You can't honestly expect me to chase deer with my dogs AND video myself at the same time? How could i keep the camera still?

I'm sure you could ask a mate for a hand.

I thought you said I didn't have any.

Actually I'm not sure that a video would do any good. I had a 'phone conversation with our local wildlife crime non enforcement officer, the ludicrously named Mr Hunter. I mentioned to him that I was going out with the intention of flushing out deer. He said that this was not evidence. Just because I SAID I intended the deer to be flushed out and I was in nthe wood with the deer and they were flushed out, I might actually be lying and flushing them out by accident.

I told him he was an idiot. He then sternly told me to obey the Hunting Act in his best policeman voice. I replied that he wouldn't whereapon he slammed the 'phone down.

Mr Hunter has since told me that he will ignore me in future. I think he has 'issues' with people committing crimes. He probably finds it a bit stressfull. Maybe next time this poor man is confronted by a criminal they will let him take a sabbatical.

Mr Hunter thats funny.

Enforcing wildlife crime is a very hard job to do, I can imagine he wishes you would disappear somehow, hehe.

The focus here is one the Hunting Act but it's one the easiest wildlife laws to enforce when compared to the others. A fox hunt is conspicous whereas badger digging/baiting, poisoning of birds of prey, illegal snaring ect are all much more difficult to uncover.

The tricky bit is how NOT to enforce the law when it is clearly ludicrous and when someone openly breaks it.

If anyone had any honesty they would just say, 'it's ridiculous for what you do to be illegal so we are going to let you carry on.'

That's the simple truth isn't it.

The trouble is that the Government have stood up in court and argued that precisely what I do should be illegal because it is cruel. But as anyone with half a brain would accept it clearly isn't.
