PMSL!!! Well, B&H are not too enamoured with theirs!! They were SOOOO funny when I turned them out yesterday! B was convinced that there was a VERY dangerous monster in the field and H REALLY wanted to go and see what it was, but she wouldn't let him

Bearing in mind it was at the TOP of the field, I had to walk UP a hill that's like vertical, and call them to me - didn't work!! Luckily i had some xtra strong mints in my pocket and I rustled the packet and B grudgingly came closer, until she could no longer stop H investigating. They then both tucked in, as if to say "MOI, SCARED????? NOOOoooooo you must have me mistaken with someone else, this is food!!" Well today, It doesn't appear that they have eaten much of it....... My YO did say, that if they didn't like it, he owuldn't charge me for it, but just bring in another one, from a different batch and give that one to his moo cows.

oh god thats nothing like mine - i opened the gate for farmer to reverse tractor and trailer in - horses not too close - soon as Ebi saw the tractor she flew down to the trailer and started tucking in. She didnt care that it was reversing into her- just backed up as fast as the tractor was going. She didnt even stop pulling at the bale when he started to tilt the trailer so the bale could slide off. Only stopped when she couldnt reach it!!! Shes always done this.
He once told me she followed him up the field - he went a bit faster just to see what she did - yes you guessed it, she chased him!!!
And guess what the great thing is

shes teaching Willow all the same tricks - oh joy!

LOL!! Yes they can race through them can't they!

In my field with the 6 big horses, I give them 2 large 800lb round bales and 1 600lb bale and this lasts them about 5 days; all of them live out 24/7.

In the foals field, they have 1 600lb bale, there are 4 little foals/youngsters in there 24/7 and 3 other youngsters in there through the day and they finish this up within 2 or 3 days.

The stallion's field; he shares with 2 in-foal mares (both small) have an 800lb bale and it lasts them about 1 week.

Interestingly, in another field there are 6 medium/large sized horses living out 24/7 and they go through an 800lb bale in about 6 days.

They are all so funny though - the minute the tractor starts up, they start calling as they adore having fresh hay. Sometimes I do have trouble getting into the fields as they all pile around me, regardless of the fact that they still have hay in the feeders.
