Its Official Drifter and me is Moving

Yee gods after 26+ years at the same yard the boy and me is moving.

Handing in my 4 weeks notice by letter today and then hoping they want my stable now and ask me to only give 2 weeks

We get a better stable his maj wont have to bend his knees to yawn and the floor is flat.

We get all year turnout in paddocks.

We get a lungeing area and a floodlit school and loads of hacking.

Oh and of course my OH has got loads of ear ache a bouncing Tiggerlike partner who wants to go shopping for Wheelbarrows forks,brooms,rubber mats and water containers.

Whoop Whoop anybody ?

Should he be worried 32 years in smae job ditched that,
26 years at same yard moving
35 years with smae man come May this year!!

Gosh, that'll be a pretty 'big' move after 26 years, I bet they thought you were part of the fixtures and fittings

Ha thats already started. I said to the Owner last night what if he jumps out of his paddock or breaks through the fence I really dont want to upset your other liveries and she said.....

Stop worrying he'll be fine we are putting him in a paddock next to a pony thats out nearly all the time.

I nearly said can I borrow it and pop it in his stable for him to meet.

OK currently on Haylage ad-lib on floor how many small bales of hay do I need to move him onto hay before he moves yards.

I was always told that going from haylage to hay shouldn't bee too troublesome, it's the other way due to the richness of haylage.

It depends how long you want him on hay before you move.
When I have moved, I take 4 big nets of haylage and then mix those with the stuff at the new yard, so horse is swapped over in about 2/3 days.
Never had any problems but all my horses have been pretty laid back in the stable.

I'm sure somebody will tell me I've done it all wrong
