Unfortunately for my big greedy food loving horse, it is that time of year again...small paddock, limited grass and electric fencing.
He has freedom in the winter of his entire 2 and a half acre paddock over a period of 6 months but now I have had the field harrowed and have put up the electric fence to separate off a much smaller area and he was none too chuffed when he went out this morning!
No doubt I will get a few comments from some of the locals as I usually do...but he has about the size of a tennis court to mooch about in and three huge haynets in his field stable...not that they see it like that!
What a mean mummy...it is so hard but for the best...so my vet keeps telling me!

I'm mean too then! I keep telling her its for her own good but i don't think she believes me!
I know what you mean about the locals, I had a conversation with one man in the village last year and he managed to say that I was mean for my horse not having any grass and that didn't I realise my horse was too fat into the same sentance.
