Ellie and I are entered up and ready to go to our first ever hunter trial this weekend!!! I am SO excited - I cannot ever remember looking forward to a competition so much.

Because we're so lucky that our yard has a XC course, I've taken her out twice this week with a couple of friends and had a jump round the course (the competition is not at our yard) and I have to say she is getting harder to control, not easier...! She's become almost a different horse over the past couple of weeks - after having not jumped for over six years (and she really is a horse who LOVES jumping), she's now getting so excited that I'm having trouble calming her down going into her fences - she has a tendency to bound towards them on her back legs! Methinks a martingale may have to be either dug out of storage or purchased before Sunday.....:D

I'm getting back part of that buzz I used to get when we BSJAed, and I honestly never thought I would. I know we have no hope of getting round clear on Sunday - there are a couple of bogey fences I may leave out, and there are 3 ditches (!), a drop AND a water jump - never a good thing for me!!! But as long as we get round in one piece, I'll be happy.

Just so excited!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
