Ok, so I posted yesterday about viewing a horse.....thing is, said horse had already been bought via a previous viewing!

Whats going on?? I hear you say....?

Well, bro-in-law calls me a few weeks or so ago and says he wants to get a horse for me sis (they already have daughters pony at my yard and sis rides my husbands horse) BUT it's gotta be a suprise! Cool!

ANd he says....if he is getting one, it's gonna be a decent one! Well flip! (they have lots of cash!)

So she is now the proud owner of a TB X ID that has been trained to an inch in Dressage! Soft, gentle and his only fault for selling? He favours the TB side rather than the ID and you have to kick a bit....! Perfect for me sis! He also jumps and is dream to handle, so cute!
I had him half-passing, rein-back, extended, changing legs, you name it, off he went!

So he loads her up in the car saying we are off shopping, she said after she thought it odd coz I HATE shopping!

We go up this farm track and he says hes 'just popping in to drop summats off to a work mates!'....

And bingo..

'Happy Christmas...here is your pressie!'..

We WERE bringing him home for Xmas day but the weather being as it is, prevented this, but he is staying at a lovely yard until we get him home!

Bro-in-law now saying they will live on beans for the next year, but he is stoked she is so HAPPY!!!!!!

How brilliant!

Her face was a picture!

Will post a pic of said horse off me phone later!

:D

I love TB x ID, they are so honest! I really hope your sister enjoys her new horse when he gets home. I wouldn't normally condone buying a horse as a gift but in this case it sounds like BiL has done his homework and got it right. What did I get when I was bought an equine for Christmas - a blurdy Sec A colt that had never been handled, what fun he was -NOT!! Good luck with him, can't wait to see pics and hope he is home soon.

Wow. What a lovely, lovely totally amazing thing to do! I'm not surprised her eyes were goggling!!

Bet that made everyone involved feel massively festive :)

You are absolutely correct of course, it sets alarm bells ringing with 'buying a dog for xmas' and all that, but she was gonna look in the spring for one, he just beat her to it! The forecast I have seen says it is warming up from next week, so with any luck, we can hopefully go Friday, once it's had chance to thaw a tad!
