I got home from my hols and rode Grace on the Wednesday and she was fine (if a little on her toes
), but she rode really well and sat back on her hocks without much effort from me. Then an instructor got on her to jump her for me on Thursday and as soon as she was walking around I noticed that she was not stepping under with her near hind
The instructor trotted her and she was undoubtedly lame
So she stayed in yesterdaty, trotted her up at night an no improvement so I phoned the vets as we have our first BD competition next week and a really busy few weeks ahead of us. The vet said she thought the lameness was coming from a bruised sole, but she also found some tenderness in her back which would not be helping matters.
So, she has to be ridden at walk in the arena twice a day for 15 minutes, and then turned out on her own for an hour to have a stretch through her back. Poor baby... I have been really fed up then pulled myself together and told myself there will be other BD competition and Grace and I have plenty of time to do them!
