So I've moved yards at the weekend and hacked out tonight in our new surroundings.
Previous yard was straight on to a main road, then on to quieter estates. This yard is metres away from the Pennine Bridleway. My hack started off nicely, then my boy became quite animated, lol!!!!
Sheep jumping out at him, random boulders, wind turbines, grass underfoot = excited pony! Piaffing if I held him back, buggering off and bronking if I gave him some leeway. Passaging was the compromise!
There was me, thinking that off road hacking would be amazing - am hoping he will get used to it all and chill out!!!! Eyes on stalks bless him.
