........and was wondering if anyone who had done the same could offer any hints/tips as to making the switch!

I've bought the lorry- or will have done if I can find someone to buy my trailer and shogun!!- and it's my first one. Any tips on how long it's okay to leave it not started for? Or tips on charging leisure batteries and things? Or even just things you didn't realise you would need?

I've been very self sufficient with my shogun and ifor for years, but this is a new venture for me. Can anybody think of things I might not have realised with the lorry? It's a Renault Dodge, so not smart, but I'm in love!!

My mechanics always say lorries are best if used regularly ie weekly at least - if I was spending any time not using it, I would start and run weekly and drive every other week I think! Re leisure batteries - I have never had a very functional one but would look into solar trickle charge i think if I did.
Other stuff - remember there is liable to be a waiting list on the VOSA centre so book your annual tests early, there is a centre in wycombe now (yay) so we don't have to go to bicester/newbury any more!!
Things you need - kettle and teabags, obviously ;) on a more practical note, breakdown cover, a basic toolkit, WD 40 and jump leads are all very useful!!
