Warning: totally self-indulgent post

After the vet politely told the spangle she was “potentially boarding the bus to Chunky Town” I’ve been keeping a closer eye on her weight (with Death-Stares aplenty as her food was cut down a smidge

) With characteristic stubbornness she refused to lose ANY weight at all....until the snow!

Me, OH and Spangle-head have been away since Dec 23rd at his family’s holiday “house” (I’d say “h**l-hole”) in the Highlands where we inevitably got snowed in and only escaped to civilisation on Friday, a full week after we were supposed to. Anyway, Madam has been LOVING it – I’ve never seen such a bouncy happy beastie!

OH took her skiing and she ploughed happily into every drift she came across (usually over her head) several times a day. Two weeks of this has resulted in a rather tired spangle who hasn’t left her bed this morning, I don’t think she’s actually lost any real weight, but she’s definitely looking leaner and more muscled (IMHO!) will need to get the scales out to confirm! Now I just have to keep her this way....agility classes here we come! Once she wakes up

Still it’s giving me time to catch up in the things I’ve missed ...like electricity, mobile phone reception, internet, TV, non-frozen water pipes, wine...

Off to see what I’ve missed in AAD since I’ve been away...and to refine my Harvey-stealing plan!

Yay! Well done to Spangle for her new found athleticism.

Well done to you for managing to survive without your creature comforts. Rather you than me.

Harvey is currently snoozing, plotting his next calamity! I have taken the opportunity, whilst he's sleeping, to perform complex surgery on his fluffy toys and numerous pairs of thick Joules socks...all new for Christmas...which all bear war wounds at the toes.

I'll have to take some more pictures as he's darkened up alot...and gotten very leggy.

SU - OH tried to take her tobogganing but she insisted on sitting IN the sledge as he pulled it uphill....he was wondering why the sledge was so heavy, didn't think to look round!

Bet Max-i-moo and St Sweep were much better behaved!

H_R - I know! I was prodding her last night to check she wasn't too thin - then OH caught me and told me off

Least Henry won't be giving you as many death stares if he's getting more grub!

Patches - More photos please! I'm ridiculously pleased to be home, we did have a fab time but I've never been so pleased to have central heating and a corkscrew!
