Gutted as I was that I couldn't make it to Badders today - watching it on the telly still acted as inspiration as it always does. Despite a lot of breathing holding and toe curling moments - it is so inspiring to watch the horse and rider teams at the top of their game.

Anyhoooo...

I had posted before about my mare who I was a bit worried about riding - but I had been out hacking her. Well over the last couple of weeks I had been panicking about riding her again, and so I started leading her out from our driving pony. I finally (with lots of rescue remedy) rode her and lead the pony today. Leading the pony seemed to help us a lot - I think mainly it stopped me thinking only about Abi and what she was doing - and Abi had her friend with her as well.

Then I have cleaned all my bridles and breastplates tonight! Saddles tomorrow.... (well maybe!!!)

Pointless and rambly post - sorry - but all in all wa a good day!

Really long story - she came to me as a project horse with a past history of bucking, and I've never had a problem with horses doing anything before. Just about 2 years ago she managed to buck me off and kick me on my way down - worse has happened to me before - but I hadn't ridden her again. Time goes by - she's had a foal (super super filly) and has been away with my sister for a while. She didn't do any naughtiness at all with my sister - so I said I would give it another go.

Long faffy story - and more than anything I hate being worried by riding her, as she is such a sweetheart in every other way. Although I think a lot of our problems is that because I worry about what she is going to do - she worries and get tense - and then is more likely to do something!

So I am taking out shares in rescue remedy for the the time being - if it means I will get on and enjoy her I don't mind!

Flo Bell, I've recently been taking mimulus for my riding nerves, I don't know if you know it, it's another Bach flower remedy. So I ended up having a day like yours yesterday, a combination of watching Badders, taking mimulus, oh, and the sun was shining and I had a nice riding friend here too, and I ended up riding both my horses and felt on top of the world.

Long may it last, for both of us.!!

I hope so epsom!! I will be double dosing on rescue remedy again - and giving it another go today! I will see if I can lay my hands on mimulus though - thanks for the tip!

The sun is shining here again - so I hope that it is with you so you can get out on your neddy again!
