Wanted one for yonks but have now just bought one online! One of the turnout ones, since my boys live out all winter (very well rugged!). Im hoping its going to keep my grey boy really clean since he always has a filthy head and top of neck where the neck falls back a bit. A clean horse..... wow what a treat! No longer will I have to look shabby and grubby at BSJA this winter (hopefully!). And Im hoping with crossed fingers it will sort out his crazy mane and make it all lie to one side FINALLY.

Cant wait to get it! So I am assuming its safe to use this hood all the time? ie. 24/7 when turned out??

Personally I wouldn't keep them on 24/7 - if yours are stabled at night I would take it off then.

Also be careful that it fits nicely - my Large was way too tight on the head. His eyes were bulging out of it!!!

I love my Snuggy T/O hood it is the best buy i have ever made. I had to have mine altered which cost an extra £10.00 which wasnt bad. I dont use mine 24/7 though he only wears it during the day. If you where going to use it 24/7 you could really do with 2 hoods or treating it with a waterproofer.
I will be buying another 2 hoods for my other two neds. Im really, really pleased with mine it so nice to get your horse in from the field and not have to spend the next hour scraping mud off them.

Glad you got yours Magicmelon.......

Mine hopefully in the post... when it arrives i am going to sew a couple of fleece cones onto the earholes so Merlins ears stay mudfree as he is none too keen on having them brushed clean of earings!!!

Question to dressage crazy??? would treating it with a wash in waterproofer work??? It says its showerproof but does not seem the sort of material to keep out the wet very well.... can you recommend one if you know a good one

One other tip... it will help to lay his mane... but keep the hood clean and use some mane and tail conditioner to keep it silky otherwise it could end up rubbing if it gets greasy inside!!

Ok, will keep it clean and use mane n tail stuff on the mane (I do all the time anyway). I was planning on spraying it with some sort of reproofer or trying that Nik Wax stuff thats on the Snuggy Hoods site. Would it work?
