I've just found a really easy way of worming my horses with a syringe!

I normally struggle to worm my horses and they end up with a lot round their mouths but tonight I gently took hold of their tongues and pulled them out of their mouths a little, then squirted the wormer to the back of their mouths, let go of their tongues and the wormer just disappeared - not a drop in sight. The backward movement of their tongue seems to make it all go straight down in one go!

No one has ever suggested to me about doing it this way before, so I thought this might help some of you.

My horse is a freak - He loves the stuff..
Mare on the other hand is a real madam, looks like she's wearing lipsick afterwards but what we do is someone holds her and sticks their finger in her mouth like putting a bit in (so she's used to it) and I dive in with the wormer :D Works a treat!

That is the correct way to worm a horse. It works great until you get a great big hunter that needs two syringes and has a slippery tongue and a face on for the second syringe!!:)
