First of all I changed my horses from being stabled to being turned out 24/7 with shelter, then I started looking into them being ridden barefoot ...........and now Im just browsing ebay for a dr cooks bitless bridle....

I think I'm becoming a NH freak without really realising it.

Next I'll be looking for a carrot stick...

Mine are stabled at the mo, by necessity, not design. I needed shelter and was about to lose it so had to move house. I am only renting at the mo and could only find a house with stables and little land as opposed lots of land and no shelter. I would personally go for the "halfway house" - a barn that they had access to for those "evil" months.

I had my horses out 24/7 and it was hard - all round for many reasons.

Mine are also barefoot. Cheaper and easier.

Have a look at the Lindell bitless bridle. I tried the Dr Cooke and struggled to get on with it.

Good luck and have fun.

Being barefoot is not an option for my lad but he lives out 24/7 and is so much better for it with access to his field shelter at all times.

You'll be wearing flowers in your hair next

Of my three, two are barefoot, two would prefer to live out 24/7, 1 would never need rugging. As it stands - all are stabled

And one needs to live in part of the year due to laminitis.
