Posted a couple of days ago about selling my daughters pony and the first people came today and bought her, left a deposit and want to pick her up Sunday. Am feeling really sad and now have to break the news to my 6 yr old daughter. She loves the thought of the pony and showing off to her friends but not so much the riding and looking after so we have agreed that she needs to have a break from the committment of it and if she decides that she wants to ride again in the future then we can get her another pony if she shows me that she really really will wants to.....I think she understands ....

Think I priced her a bit cheaply at £500 as had about a dozen calls for her in 5 days but hey ho...

On the plus side it couldnt have been a better home for her and we didnt haggle over money or anything so it was a nice sale if there is such a nice thing. Wish me luck telling my daughter... horrible mummy!

Oh good luck. Hope you don't get any tantrums! I know I would from my 4 yo!!
At least, like you said, she can still come and "do the horses" with you as you still have yours (if I remember correctly) and I think it'll be good to have a break from them. Then if she does decide she really wants another then you can... go horsey shopping again! Yay!
I think she was v v cheap (would have liked her myself if you weren't so far down south!) but glad she's going to a nice home. Maybe they could send you updates/photos so your daughter doesn't feel too left out.

thanks, cant say I am looking forward to it! Will fortify myself with a glass of wine beforehand. I keep telling myself I have doen the right thing, just worried that we wont ever find such a good little pony again! Someone please tell me good steady 13hh ponies do exist and we will find another gem in a year or so!

I have one myself TwoBays, so yes they do exist

I know how you feel about selling...we sold daughters shettie a year ago because she was outgrown....but she went to a lovely home and we gets pics/e-mails now and again so all's ok.

Be prepared for tears and a wobbly lip ....you AND daughter, no doubt....
