What are your thoughts on the iveco daily van based horseboxes? Looking at the pre 2000 models. Do they roll a lot for instance? Is there enough grunt in the engines to pull two up a hill? Would probably look at a 5ton plus weight wise.

Oh ok, do you think that was because of body roll? Some bodies seem to place the horse over the rear wheels? Would that cause bad travelling?

What does your horse usually travel in, do you mind me asking?

I have a 2000 5.2 tonne Iveco Daily that travels two brilliantly. It's very stable even in winds, never struggles with the weight (although that depends on the payload you have left over I suppose and the weight of the horses you put in) an d has never broken down. I do think they come in 4 wheelbases though so I imagine that makes a difference.

I had an Iveco daily 5.2t and loved it. It carried two horses easily although with our two 'big' horses we were slightly over weight on the back axle. It always felt safe, was mechanically sound and the only thing I had to do was have an isolator switch fitted. Sold it to someone locally and I still see them driving it.

I have a 1993 6 ton Iveco Daily.

It's one of the ugliest lorries I have ever seen , but it drives beautifully, great engine, no tilt cab needed. Comfortable for people and horses to travel in.

Love it :D
