I would quite like a trailer. I saw one of these at Badminton and had a really good look at it. After a chat with the OH, I think I would like one of these. I only have 1 horse and I think it might be easier to tow.

Does anyone have one and are they ok? I know they are a little wider than 1 stall in a 506/511, but I am not sure i quite have the funds for one of those and I am a bit wary of 2nd hand one as I don't know what to look for and am bound to get a dud!

thoughts? :D

Hi, I had one and it was fab.
Lighter than a double so can have a smaller 4x4 or large family car. They aren't as wide as a double so makes towing easier to see down the sides, without having to have extra mirrors. Take up less room when parking and can be moved by one person so great if your on your own. Perfect if you only ever have to tow one horse.
Down sides are, you have to carry your tack etc in your car ad no room for a tack locker and if you ever need to take 2 horses your buggered!!!
Problems buying second hand are the same as buying a double. Check the floor, ramp etc.
I bought mine direct from ifor and sold on Ebay for only a few hundred less than i paid for it, so they hold their price.

I was very impressed with the size of the 'single' Ifor trailer at Badminton too and it would be ideal for me too. I looked up the cost on the internet and it was 'do able' if I sold my old 505 and added some savings. Then I realised it was 'plus VAT' and it was then too expensive!!!. Think I may look out for a used 510 instead without VAT.

I think it is including VAT you know. What they are saying is that the VAT is dependent on what rate it is at the time. So, if you had bought it 2 years ago (or whenever it was), you would only have paid 15%, however, you would now pay 20% VAT on it.

I prepare to stand corrected, but that is what I take this to mean:
"Prices are ex-works and are subject to delivery charges and the VAT rate applicable at the date of supply."

I think the basic one was approx 3k on the website and I take it as plus VAT and delivery so at least £3600.......shame, would have loved a shiney new trailer!!

Yeah sounds like + Vat to me I am afraid :-(

subject to delivery charges and the VAT rate applicable at the date of supply

They have put this as it keeps changing so often ATM if It was the good Ol 17.5% then it would read

subject to delivery charges and VAT at 17.5%

does that make sense ??

Otherwise they are fab my mate has one and is really manageable for her on her own + no one ever nags her for a lift !!!

I've got the previous model and its great. The only little 'niggle' is that, because the ramp is quite a lot narrower than a double, the horses (one a slightly dodgy loader and one who'd follow you off a cliff if you asked him to) often do a little bit of a double take before they seem to get their eye in and then load happily.

It's worth phoning around dealers.... I got my 510 a year ago at a 'without VAT price'!!!

We had one and all the horses we travelled in it liked it. It was very to tow with as where the car went so could the trailer as it was no wider. Very stable as well. Also could tack the horse up in it as plenty of space.

I must have been really lucky, got it from an ad in H&H, second hand but only used 4 times! And for under £1500.... bargain!?
I think there should be more of these about IMHO

Hi we have had 1 on trial a 401 and its brill, i have ordered a brand new one 403 from HFB trailers in staffs they are brill, they are really nice, went to barlows but they where really off with me

I know both dealers have 403 used in for 3k
