Izzy and I went cross country schooling for the first time this year on Easter Monday, and only second time since this time last year, as he was off jumping most of last year.

I knew he would be excited so the day before we went for a 3.5 hour fast hack on the Downs to take the edge off. Very glad we did. He was still totally up for and raring to go in a sensible, listening way. Joys of having a superfit coblet.

He ducked out of one part of combination coming up from some steps because I was flapping at him and not using my leg, but totally my fault. Did it again and kept leg on and he jumped it perfectly.

He was fantastic. Did the ditch without a glance and then did it about 15 times on a circle to try to help the other two horses get over. He just kept going, didn't even get out of puff or break a sweat. Same can't be said for me.

Didn't jump very big as was just wanting a low key day but so pleased with my boy. He was fantastic. I love how if I ride him well, he is so willing but when I ride like a lemon he lets me know. Makes me work harder.:D

Very happy to be out

Looking up to all the horses jumping in the distance

Thanks for your lovely comments. We love, love, love cross country so it was great to be out. He is very brave and bold so just now planning our first ever cross country event or hunter trial. He is so good that a few people are wanting to do pairs with us which is very nice.

We have our first competitive endurance ride this Sunday so hoping the snow stops!

@Con234- our first time at Coombelands but it was fab and very busy on Monday. Plenty of horses pinging around.
