A friend of mine has a gorgeous 12wk old jack russel pup, who very sadly she has to rehome, she paid £200 for it and wants to get some money back, but ultimately wants a kind home, any ideas where to successfully advertise to find a nice new home?

OK, I'm going to bite.

If the breeder is half decent, they'll have the pup back and rehome it themselves. If your mate went to some backstreet breeder, they won't. Her money is gone, she's probably going to have to get over that.

This puppy is a living creature. It did not ask to be born, sold, and it is not asking to be rehomed. Your mate needs to sort out her priorities - the pup must come before her wallet. Whether she likes it or not, the pup is her responsibility.

Therefore, she should contact a reputable rescue organisation and ask them for their help in finding a suitable, vetted new home. I recommend the Dogs Trust as that is where I got my dog from, but there are many good rescues about.

Where is it? Dog or bitch? I'll take it if no one else does. poor little thing. If it was a gift WTF is she doing wanting to get some money back? or was she daft enough to buy it for someone without making sure they actually wanted one?Obviously the OP has been edited to make it less distasteful. my worry is that if the poor little soul is unwanted it's not getting all the care & attention it deserves.

Is it just me that doesnt see the OP as edited

There is no 'edited by' message when I view the thread, and I think the wording is the same as when it was first posted

But then I am tired tonight so it may have just passed me by

Same as GH here -- I cannot see 'edited by' anywhere, and I also believe it is the same wording as when it was first posted.

Phew, I thought I had lost it there, thanks FB

Not that it makes the situation any better of course

Poor little pup

You can edit without having an edited message come up, there is a box you tick saying 'show message as edited', and you just untick it.
I do it quite a lot to disguise the fact that despite my profession, I can be a little lax with spelling sometimes

The title and the content is what threw me, they are contradictory.

Ah in that case, the OP is as it originally was I think - I took the contradiction to be that the OP's friend bought the pup as a gift for someone else, then found they didnt want it

Ditto that ditto.

To explain, its a young girl who bought it for her boyfriend for xmas, and yes i agree with all of you above, its very irresponsible of the girl and the breeder to sell it to her in the first place.

Im just trying to do my bit in finding it a nice home, thats all! Its currently living with another friend of mine who is trying to rehome it.

It is being well looked after atm.

I can offer a good home, but am miles away. Could come & collect if all other options fail.

Keep us informed of the outcome please?

LOL-rehoming another HHO'ers dog is not clever!
I am living proof! I'm getting greyer by the day and my vocab now only contains the phrases:
'I'm so sorry, can I call you an ambulance'
'I'm so sorry, she's usually so good with other dogs'
'I'm so sorry, I had no idea she was covered in sh1t before she jumped up you'
'I'm so sorry, here is a quid to buy another ball for your dog'
'Millllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'
'Milly NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'
'NO! Not the water'

ONLY JOKING!!!
Best thing we ever did!

Ditto what others have said about contacting the breeder first, poor pup sounds as if she has been shoved round a bit already if she is now in her third home at 12 weeks.

Well done for trying to help though daisychain.

I'll take her (: Am quite far from you though !

We got Poppy as a kind of rescue , her owners had to be taken into a refuge where dogs weren't allowed so we took her from the womans mum . I think we paid about £50 and she was originally brought as a pup at £250.
