Hello!
I'm looking at getting a Jack Russell pup towards the end of this year and thought it might be worth checking on here whether anybody breeds them or can recommend somewhere/somebody reputable that does?
Our last dog came to us as a 2 year old from a family friend who lived up the road and were moving abroad so we'd known her since she was a puppy and that she had a fantastic temperament. My boyfriend also has a Working Cocker Spaniel who he bought from a reputable chap in our area who trains gun dogs so we've never really had to go looking for a dog as such so I'm not sure where to start!
I've had a look on the internet on websites such as Preloved and Pets4Homes but don't feel confident enough to necessarily buy from a stranger - how do you tell whose genuine and who isn't? I realise that buying a breed such as a terrier probably isn't as much of a science as other breeds and I know they can be yappy but I'd like to feel reassured I've found a nice little chap who with the correct training and a social upbringing won't turn out to be a yappy nightmare.
He'll have my boyfriend's dog for company at home and probably go with them to work where he can be outside most of the day, come to the yard with me etc and hopefully sort out any issues with rats we've been warned about at the house we're moving in to!
