basically as i'm under 16 (untill november) am i not aloud to wear black or navy show jackets out hunting? just the tweed coloured ones? my hacking jacket is to big for me and i much prefer my show jacket...
oh and stocks... under 16's aren't aloud to wear white?

sorry, this is probably obvious to everyone, but with a friend that tells you that halfpass and leg yeilding is the same thing (when it is not), i get confused  :(

Tweed is usually worn for cubbing and childrens meets, and before the open meet. I wear a black hunting jacket when I'm hunting and I'm under 16, I'm 99% sure you're allowed to wear navy and black. I wear a white stock too, but if you have a hacking jacket a tie is more correct :)

see my pictures in the pic gallery- im 15 (16 in 2 weeks but ya know!) and wear my navy show jacket and a cream stock, which is perfectly acceptable with my-very laidback- hunt.

oh yes! lol seen them now

i should be ok with my black jacket then, thanks

Hmmmmmm...... do you know something i don't know????

I am a traditionalist...so, as a child - sorry! - you should be in tweed, with shirt and PC tie (if you are a member). On the plus side PCers with us only pay a fiver, so it makes for cheaper hunting!

My mum phoned S&EH the other day and it's only £10 for juniors! can't wait to go hunting! :D
I was also wondering what jacket to wear, i'm 15 so would a green tweed jacket, white shirt and burgundy tie with yellow pinspots be ok?

Tweed is using worn before the open meet

Then it's navy or black jackets.

Then tweed again after the end of the Cheltenham festival

according to my local hunt website, remember as someone else asked me once. No mention of age

I was always told that under 16s should be in tweed unless invited to wear otherwise or unless child of hunt servant, not sure how correct that it though.

if your new to hunting then the hunt is likely to be pretty relxed about it unless your out with one of the very traditional home counties hunts. if your really unsure give the hunt secretary a ring and ask, they will be more than happy to help.

In our hunt (from the opening meet) under 18s wear tweed with shirt and tie or coloured stock. Over 18s or those with hunt buttons can wear navy or black. It's more correct for an over 18 to wear tweed (ie understated) than an under 18 to wear black or navy (overstated).
