January
Out of work due to the bad weather, if we were lucky, we managed to get a sit on in the field. We did manage to get to the beach towards the end of the month tho!

February
Sy was lame, she stook off on the beach and stood on a nail, vet thought it was a bruised sole, she didn't come sound not even when she had bute, took x-rays and found out her pedal bones have rotated. This is always when we realised she stood on a nail with the nail shaped hole in her hoof.
Started remedial trimming.

March
She came sound towards the middle of the month, first day I bought her back in to work, she bolted and hurt her back. Chiropractor came out, fixed her, then brought her back into work and she started to go amazing.

April
Lost loads of weight all of a sudden, stopped riding her, got her teeth done for the first time by a qualifed equine dentist and not the vet. She got really edgy about the new person but after she calmed down got a 7 our of 10 for behaviour. She put weight back on, started again with the road work.

May
Found out I was moving in August, I lost my job (they shut down), so had to move her to a cheaper field/yard which I could afford on just my EMA alone. She enjoyed the hacking and schooling around the fells. Got told to move down to my new job ealier than expected. Signed the forms for her to be in my name.

June
Dentist came back out to give her another teeth check before we moved. Move went amazing, she loaded straight away. Got there she changed completely, she was settled. Sy is officially mine!

July
Started to get her confidence up jumping, got my confidence up jumping her and we started to fly.

August
Another good month for us.

September
She came in with a pulled hamstring towards the end of the month, had the physio out, two weeks long reining (she'd never been long reined before) and circle work bringing her hind quarters under her. She also started living in a night.

October
Physio came back out, a big improvement, another two weeks long reining then I could start to ride. The hamstring affected all her back muscles. I could ride every other day for 10 minutes at a walk for two weeks.

Novemeber
Started trot work and hacking. After two weeks of trot work I could bring her back into full work. I did a lot of lunging with two reins and bending work with her to try and encourage her to soften. We also clipped her, I realised how sharp she is! She went from being stood still, then one blink later, she'd be in the air or going to kick us. With no warning at all. Still, a big improvement, no twitch (for most of it) or sedation at all.

December
Put her on a calmer to see if it would alter her attitude after she started becoming dangerous, ridden wise and she was becoming extremely rude. Got some samples from Olympia. Still figuring which one to use, for two left to try (left a week or so inbetween).
On Christmas day i managed my first bareback canter without any bronking, moodyness or bucking.

I hope 2011 is a better year for us! :D
