I need country boots mine are not leaking but they are falling apart, I bought some new mountain horse ones in the summer but they are so nice I don't want to wear them in the mud and crap, I wear them to go out shopping and for normal stuff I might eventually delegate them to horse chores.

....and a £50 one will have to have the same safety standard. I've never understood the craze for £400+ hats that you might have to replace after one fall.

Safety standard is the same, and I don't have hats that are real top whack, but even with the same manufacturer the quality of the higher end ones is visibly different, straps are made of better materials, clips etc are metal not plastic, they are often lighter weight, better ventilated etc.
Personally, it's not just safety when I might be wearing it a good few hours comfort is important too.
Incidentally, @Shavings and anyone looking for hats hope valley have some Charles Owen in their advent calendar offer today

See I don’t agree. I’ve got a Uvex Exxential that was £79. It’s my second (after falling in first one after 18 months of use).
It’s the most comfortable and light weight hat I own.
I’ve had blingier hats but they aren’t as comfortable and I only buy and wear the uvex.
But ultimately hat comfort is pretty important, I’d say buy the most comfortable you can afford.

I bought these for my mum for Christmas as her feet are always cold in wellies & she poo picks my field for me in winter as it's pitch black when I go at morning and evening feed time (thanks for the recommendation on here, I can't remember who it was!)

None of mine have been over £200 for sure, I have the exxential 2 which I like a lot - comfy and lightweight. I've had multiple Charles Owen hats over the years though. Their cheaper ones are the same shape and safety standard but the harnesses aren't as plush for example and the mid budget ones do just feel a bit nicer. I've never paid for bling or anything though
