I have recently taken on a four year old that was backed by jason at UGLY last year. She is not the easiest and can sometimes be tricky in the stable but is solid as a rock to ride, he has done a good job with her.
Seems to have a generally good rep. here in Kent. My friend works for him and says he is genuine and commited to horse welfare and rider /horse safety and enjoyment. Go and see him; they have open days each month
I sent one of mine to him, my sister sent him an extremely headshy unbroken horse, a friend sent a bolter (I mean run in to fencing bolter) all are now superb, easy, rideable horses. I will be sending my youngsters to him to start; he is not cheap but worth every penny.
I sent a young pony to Jason earlier this year for general school and for loading issues. They made a huge difference to her - she was much easier and calmer when she came home ( and loaded!!) Here she is on the left in their school ( looking very woolly!)
( sorry, massive pic!)
I have another young pony booked in for January, again for general schooling. Jason is an amazing horseman, he has a lovely way about him with the horses, I only wish I could send all of ours to him!
I sent the Menace to Jason in January of this year. I was on the verge of giving up with him due to his biting and kicking and general moodiness.
I went to go and have a look at the yard first and they were extremely nice and showed me around. A few weeks later I dropped Enys off there. It was a great set-up with nice airy boxes.
He ended up being there only a week and a half because he wasn't badly behaved - I think the proper handling and having experienced people there, meant that he learnt quickly. They rang me up and chatted over everything and decided he may as well come hom. They only charged me a week
Then when I came to pick him up Jason showed me how to best to handle him and a few really nifty tricks.
It made ALL the difference and from the time I got him home, he was different. He reverts back every now and then but I still use some of Jason's tricks and they work. I can now hug my horse, which before wasn't possible.
Then a few months later Jason gave me a call to see how we were getting on...not a bad service considering he was only there a week and a half.
Thank you was recomended him for my gelding who is a spooker and lacks confidence, i've tried and tried and now think i need some help as i can't seem to sort these things out, i've filled in the application contact form on his website and waiting for them to give me a ring back, does anyone know how much he charges? x
