Hello

Just out of curiosity really.....

a) do these breeding lines still attract a lot of interest of have they been replaced in popularity by more modern event types?

B) anyone know or heard of the Hanoverian side of her breeding please?

mare is Hanoverian x TB ( dam is by primitive rising and has java tiger grand sire) stallion was canworthy monsun (Hanoverian out of Mozart , Maigraf)

breeding and bloodlines are not really an area of interest to me - am a bit clueless really ( got this horse from a dealer 3 yrs ago and she's been a superstar for me), basically i adore my horses (2 of)and have fun with riding club etc and doing literally a bit of everything, however my mare, I have recently found out (through an old injury), will not jump again, do not want to sell her as a hack ( although may consider loaning her as such from my yard to right person in future)and will not just see her passed on as a "broodmare" would rather know she was happy, content and well cared for with me until the end of her days and am currently lucky enough to be in a position to keep her. ( am selling my youngster to raise the funds to look for a new allrounder) but she is an absolute sweetie with temperament to die for and great ability ( pre injury) at 12 yrs she is still young and so the possibility of having a foal in a couple of years does hold appeal for me but would need to be very very considered descision if I was to go ahead.
( a cuppa/ or glass of wine for you( depending on time of day) if you made it through all that waffle !! :-) )

so anyway, just wondering what people thoughts are good and bad about java tiger and primitive rising horses, and if breeding from a mare like this what type of stallion would be your preference.??

thanks

Interesting question! I'd love those bloodlines, but don't breed specifically for eventing. I had 2 by Monsun (originally Louella Monsun) who was given the Canworthy rpefix when they sold him. They subsequently had him back, which was when we used him. I think that dash of Han. added to the lines you mention would be great, and if I had her I'd be straight back to a TB, or near TB.

Yum I second Chrissie....two of the most prolific TB eventing sires and if memory serves me right Monsun was a decent Grade A. A lovely pedigree at first glance.

I had soem video of Monsun at a Louella Open day, years ago, and he was loose jumping large fences, especially given his age, and just enjoying himself. If I could find another Monsun type stallion I'd be happy. He also did stressage.
