Max has been a bit slobbery on walks this week, he's not normally, but this week has had strings of goo hanging from his face that hooch would be proud of.

Yesterday I noticed a lump under his jaw, but as he was fine, eating and drinking normally I thought I'd leave it 24 hours to see if it went down. It didn't so I took him to the vets this morning and they kept him in so they could investigate, turns out he has/had a well developed abscess under his jaw. So now I feel bad for not thinking more about his excess slobber as it obviously started then. He'll gets lots of extra cuddles and a special dinner (rice and scrambled egg) this evening, poor dog!

Some pics of him collecting sticks, logs really, and probably how he got the abscess

:(

Now he's home with a hole so the abscess can drain, and he's very sad. I can't convince him to eat the rice and scrambled egg, even feeding by hand and he just keeps whining. He didn't look sad at all before I had it treated :(

He's just trying to guilt trip you ! :) If he's had any sort of sedation to have it drained he's bound to be feeling a bit strange, I am sure he will soon be back to normal.

Ha, I'm sure he is, I personally think he like the vets secretly, it's his fourth visit for injury since I've had him. Only a year and a half!

He won't be off the lead whilst he's got the hole in his jaw though, yuk!
