Hi, I know diesel is better, but does anyone know how these petrol jeeps are for towing. I have one horse, but would like the option to take two. Would be using lightweight trailer

My old Jeep was a 2.4 petrol and it had no problems pulling two small horses (we didn’t use it that much as we also had an Isuzu Trooper). I now have the 3.7l and I’m sure it would easily pull a trailer (but we have a horse box now). I love Jeeps!

thanks, I want to make sure I do it properly, but I think I may have just found a bargain. I have checked my weights, its just power I wanted to be sure of

Hubby thinks it will be fine, we have the 2.8CRD and it is a great workhorse.
Check out your prices before you part with any money though, Jeeps are cheap as chips now, we were very shocked at how little our 3 year old is worth!

I love Jeeps, real work horses. I am not sure what a petrol would be like, but I have a diesel. Knowing Jeeps, I would say that the petrol one would be good too, if a little thirsty.

Sorry, just got rid of ours (deisel) the engine went.

I suppose their is good and bad in all, my M reg pegeout 106 just keeps going and going, touch wood

Hubby liked the jeep to drive, but it had loads of problems, we have now got a mitsubishi crew cab, and I much prefer it, espeically as all the dirty tack and smelly bits are away from the sitting area

I was told that a 2.5LT engine min is best for towing a trailer and horses as they say 1 Ton of trailer and 1 ton of horse!!! could be wrong
