Ok so whilst ordering my bridle ive noticed not all of the jeffries say English leather. Im having to go for their build your own type bridle as my boy isn't a standard size. But whilst the other jeffries bridles say English leather. This just says "a quality English bridle"

Humm

English leather bridles are often made over seas but correctly described as being English leather. Bridles made in England are just that as well, no guarantee of English leather! Confusing isn't it.

Yes, good quality English leather is far preferable to any imported and the craftsmanship and lorinery of the finished article leaves a lot to be desired when made abroad

The Italians make fantastic leather as well I simply don't believe that the only country in the world that makes good leather is us.

No, you're right but most cheap bridles as sold by main wholesalers in this country are made in India using English leather, they have Indian Lorinery and Indian craftsmanship. The clever wording on the labels often gives the impression to the customer that the bridle is MADE in England, not just the leather. The person who made the cheapy Indian leather bridle often makes the English leather bridles in the same factories in India. The discerning riders/owners who actively avoid Indian bridles may buy the English leather version thinking they are buying the real deal, my gripe is the ambiguous wording it is confusing. By not putting where the item is made on that Jeffries bridle only adds to the confusion and doesn't help.Wholesalers and manufacturers (including the expensive makes) need to be honest about where it comes from. Retailers when asked often either don't know where it comes from or don't care. As a traditional saddler it saddens and riles me at the same time to see it, ask any saddler, they will tell you the same thing.
