Just back from the vet and not good news sadly.
The vet is fairly certain it is her cruciate ligament. She is going in tomorrow for x-rays to confirm, then the op straight away.
Que sera and all that!

I must have missed their posts. If they read this could they let me know what to expect in terms of recovery etc. I know the cost! A bloomin lot of money and I'm not insured.

Oh Goya!!! How totally awful for you!

God you've been through it a bit havent you. Poor sod.

I hope Jess is ok and at least it will hopefully be over and done with tomorrow. Bless your heart. xxxx

My rotti just had her stitches out beofre I left work this am, basically an op to repair bust/torn cruciate, then 6 weeks strict rest (as in crate, if you cannot get her rested, (and lead for toilet only) with gradual exercise after that, mine wont get off a lead till about 10 weeks so I can get the best possible results, she is easy to rest really, she is now bearing weight very nicely and hopping aevery now and then , but she only had her op on the
7th, my advice would be chose a good vet.
My rott had done both now and you would never tell she had an op on the 1st, she runs plays and shows no sign of a previous injury and im hoping for that from this op (opposite leg) there is the arthritis factor later on and weight is a must, as in keep them lean.

If u track back and find out post u will see the post op pics, chicken leg and lots of stitches and goreyness :D
Ps it's not something u can prevent, it's usually bouncy weight bearing dogs, that are "to bouncy" to be bouncing so much heftyness around:D, but in saying that alot of bouncing littluns get it to, like J.r.t, but sometimes they can heal naturally and go down the non op, but pain relief route, as they are so small, a little gimpy limp wont effect them like a large breed.:D
