Do you take yours off on the yard?

I have several ear piercings but they're quite complex, not just normal studs, so am reluctant to take them out for an interview on a yard on Sunday, don't mind if I get the job but I'd be pretty gutted if I took them out, they healed over and I had to get them re-done. Sorry if that sounds pathetic, body mods are my second hobby, odd as it sounds
I can put plastic jewelry instead of metal in, but know it's quite a H&S matter.
Should I just try and keep my ears covered- not v. professional when riding tho to not have my hair net on, or hair tied back on the yard as it's now shoulder length.
I don't wear bracelets, necklaces etc.

I would take them out. They surely arent going to heal over that quickly, ie during space of an interview or have a got wrong end of stick there

Studs would be no good due to the positioning, but there's nothing dangly- all very secure rings so nothing can get caught on them.
Ester- it's a day long interview/trial (I'll be setting off about 7am, with a 3 hour journey home after yards are 'done' for the day, and I can't get them all in/out on my own) & some of them are still healing so I'd be worried they'd grow over.

Think I might put my plastics in (if I can find them, eek) explain, and if they ask say I'd be happy to take them out should I get the job, if they wish and that I accept it could be a risk?
Or would that be seen as being beliigerent/un co-operative?

now thats a very good idea do what kerilli says!!

ah might if they are still healing, I have the slowest healing ears ever, mine tend to get grumpy if I wear anything in them and can easily go 6 months!!

Wouldn't that make them more noticeable and make them look really UNprofessional.

If you really want this job, and are genuine about removing them, just tell them that you are prepared to remove them if you get the job. It will also make you look good as being a person who will be flexible.

Donklet- that would be my concern- more obvious and bulky than just jewelry.
I have tons of micro pore tape, so will just take a roll down with me, say I'm happy to cover them but not take them out unless I get the job and hope for the best.
Thanks for the advice! Hadn't thought of the micro-pore tape, brainwave idea Kerilli!

Proves that you realise they're a health and safety risk and you're not ignoring them imo.

Hopefully they'll see it this way!

Will be sad if I do have to take them out tho, but hey ho, hopefully the job will be worth it.
