Currently I think I could do with tweaking my feed plan a little to maximise what I'm feeding.... & hopefully minimise costs
I've got 2 TB's one (17) in light work. One (7) moderate work. Not particularly good doers. They live out 24/7 on what was good grazing, but is now a poached, muddy swamp
When it dries a little they will move to another paddock with very good grass.
They currently get ad-lib hay - this equates to a bale of hay each a day.
They are also fed 2x a day. Mollichaff senior ( which they love), own brand hi- fibre cubes, equi-jewel & pink powder. I've also just started them on micronised linseed.
I was thinking now they are on the linseed once this bag of equi-jewel is finished not to continue with it....see silly to pay £35 a bag when the linseed should do the same thing for £20.
I was also thinking of stopping the pink powder & just buying brewers yeast & a possibly a separate vit & min supplement - should still work out cheaper than the pink
Powder - what do you guys think of this?
Another idea I've toyed with is soaked grass nuts instead of the hi-finre cubes but I haven't had any experience with them...although I've heard good things about them helping to keep weight & bloom without fizzing up.
Any ideas would be gratefully received although not sugar beet as it sends the older lad mental
