Job Application help? Ad says Applications are Invited from...........

People who are qualified doing x, y, z for 2 years etc etc .

Does this mean , they are mostly hoping to get applications from these people , as they would be most suitable but other people can apply also but maybe wont be as successful !!

or

Does it mean politely DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU ARE this person with x, yz, , and 2 years qualification etc etc ???????

Just wondering if i should bother applying or not , apart from the , x,y,z part i am very suitable in all aspects of skills etc .

Usually means the latter, but if you fill all the other requirements and feel you would do a good job and pick it up very quickly then Id go ahead and apply anyway. Worst they can do is turn you down.

If I like a role and I have a good proportion of the requirements, then I'll apply for it

When I set ads for people, I put what the company would consider ideal in the full knowledge and expectation that the majority of the applications will not match it fully

I apply for roles roughly every three months or so, in fact more often if one counts the consultants who work through our company, and we have a pretty good strike rate
