Corrr i haven't posted on here for a while!

Well basically I saw advertised a grooms job 2/3 hours at weekends, £10 an hour.
Rang up and was told there were 6 horses but they were just in a field and she just needed someone to groom them for her.

Fair enough, so i went to see them yesterday as a kind of informal interview.
Well, it is basically about 10 horses in a field, some with very young foals and they were nearly all yearlings and two year olds.
The lady asked me no questions about my experience, or anything really- just if i had my own horse.

The horses seemed very shy and nervous and looked as though they hadn't really been handled much. She pointed at a couple of horses and said that she just wanted these few groomed and that I could just tie them to a tree in the shade or on a fence post somewhere in the field and give them a brush.

And with no questions asked about me at all she said i could start next week.

Should I take it? Sounds a bit odd doesn't it.

I would be a little worried about the unhandled bit. Also that you are grooming them in a field with a lot of other loose horses. Is there going to be anyone else around if there is a problem with them? I think you know best as to what your happy with. Is it possible the owner is nervous of grooming them herself and thats what its all about? If all is OK £10 an hour seems good to me!

if that was me looking for a job i would dismiss this one, it sounds very lacksy, horses not handled much, tie them to a tree blah blah, its up to you of course but you could end up as a right dogs body!!

Hmm! The money's good, but i just have a gut feeling that something isn't right.
I think i'm going to go next sunday and see how it is, if i don't like it..quit!
